Racer 6955
So. I ended up 264th best overall rider in Oregon out of 739 Category 4/5 riders. And that’s staying in Cat 5. I didn’t even have enough races to upgrade. It’s not great; but it’s not bad. On a scale of one to ten, with ten being better, it’s a 6.5 (or something like that.) And with all due respect, it’s way better than what the other fooks (yes, I said fooks) around town who said they were going to race and didn’t. A DNF is better than the big fat zero.
I loved the way my legs felt toward the end of the season. Being able to beat the guys up the hill. The burn in the lungs. The learned behavior that while it hurt so bad, there’s just a little more and you just have to go longer than the wheel next to you.
Here’s the link to OBRA’s 2006 Best. I’m proud to have raced with all of you. Thanks for making every week something to strive for. And who said I wasn’t worried about stats? Not I :)
