Lighting.

What I use: Cateye EL-200

What I would get if I had the money: NiteRider Evolution (froogle)

Either way you go, your headlamp means you’ll be seen better when the weather turns cloudy and rainy or in the morning or evening haze and lower sun conditions.

Oh. What about tailights? I’ve this and it’s plenty bright: Cateye LD1000

Saturday’s ride was uneventful except for the fact that I rode thru downtown to get to HWY 30. The marathon wa getting setup and I really wanted to run it. Alas, the training is so involved I wouldn’t have any time for other things.

So once I got to HWY 30 I went ahead and turned it up for a five mile out and back along the highway. It felt good to open it up. It wasnt’ blazin’ … but I averaged about twenty-two for the effort.

So, what does new brakes for the car, lights and a Saturday ride have in common? Not much, really.

Check out this taillight sometime. It is so bright at night that I can’t follow the rider in front of me too closely or I get blinded. Cars will definitely see you!
