Cycle Oregon
taken 07/09/2006 - I do like my wheels.
Jonathan Maus is riding the weeklong ride of Cycle Oregon starting this weekend. I like his journalistic approach to writing about Portland’s cycling community and happenings. His reports cover so much ground regarding advocacy, news and events that it’s become a huge part of my daily news reading routine. Join him via the web where he’ll be posting (when he can) stories from the road. I’m sure after the event readers will be posting ride reports as well.
I, however, do not endeavor to ride across Oregon for a week. Having completed a double century last July I can’t imagine being on the bike for days on end. Touring has not piqued my interest either. I will, though, entertain the thought of multi-day riding excursions or tours much like the Highline Hammer earlier last month.
