STP Prep
I will skip breakfast. I propose meeting at 4:00 AM at the University Unocal gas station at 4359 Roosevelt Way Northeast. It’s a mile west from the start near 45th and Roosevelt. This should give everyone time to meet, ride together to the start, do the bag check and roll; and allow for lines or traffic.
That was message to all the folks riding with me on Saturday. It’s an early rise; but beings that most of us will not have a restful night with pre-race jitters, it’s only fitting that we get on the road as soon as possible.
With the pace we want to maintain, I wonder what it will be like? Can we do 20 mph overall? I’m confident we can. What’s nice is that I’m prepped. I don’t have the pre-ride jitters or conservations like I would if I haven’t prepped or feel good about the training.
Still. We know our body’s well. What they’re capable of. What we can and cannot accomplish. I want to have legs for the Whitefish trip in three weeks. On that note, if I feel that I’m going too hard or that my joints will be damaged; I’ll take a DNF on this one. My Whitefish ride is paid for and I want to ride Glacier Nat’l Park in style.
We’ll do well. I know this.
