Training # 30 - West Hills
I would have thought yesterday’s efforts would drop my performance level a notch; but quite the opposite. As it goes; in March, I was always last up the hill. Tonight, however, even after some team trialing around Sauvie Island, I made it up Newberry first. Granted, Calvin or Fishmel or Tom was not there, yet it was nice not to be last.
I also learned something about bluffing tonight. While this one dude was passing me up the hill I sped up and rode abreast to keep pace. The effort was very hard and I hurt in places I didn’t know where there. He dropped. It was about who could last longer. Not how fast we climbed.
Well, I guess it was about how fast we climbed, but I held out that much longer. Be the pain. Embrace it.
Good times.
