Training # 26 - 16 to 22; Where’s Lance?
In an effort to keep up with stronger training during the week, I chose to ride the West Hills Wanderer route with Portland Velo. The two leaders were very strong and I could not keep up with them. No bother though, because neither could Chester.
We lost the two on a turn so we made up our own route. Thanks to Chester for knowing the area and guiding us back to the meeting place by Washington Mutual. All in all this was a great ride and I appreciated the company. ‘Specially when I looked down at the speedometer and we’re doing 22 mph on the flats. If I was alone, I would have been tempted to troll along at 16 mph instead. Stats for the ride: 2,500 ft of climbing (Woot); 16.1 mph; 22.55 miles.
Lance Armstrong was in town to open the new Tualatin 24 Hour Fitness. I’ve heard good and bad about the club, so I’m concluding that it’s a mighty fine club to a part of. Regardless of it’s reputation as a “Mighty Fine Club to be a Part Of”; to attend this location, I would have to upgrade my “Sport” membership to “Super Sport”.
If I ever met Lance I would ask him, “Would it be worth it to upgrade to the ‘Super Sport’ package?” I have the feeling that candidly, he’d rather I be riding my bike. And riding it hard. As an aside; I’m liking the semi-colon. Look for more of them in the near future.
Here’s some great footage of “The Boss”. After watching this I’d like to go ride some more. Enjoy.

No problem. I didn’t like the soundtrack at first, but now it’s growing on me.
