I have since changed from the Tegaderm to Band-Aid ACTIV-FLEX™ for wound dressing. The Tegaderm would not reliably stay stuck to my skin due to the expelled moisture. What I like about the ACTIV-FLEX™ is they absorbe the moisture, yet stay stuck on the wound keeping it from drying out. We took a peek at one of the elbows and the skin is healing rather nicely. Here’s some tips from the Band-Aid site
A covered wound:
- Heals more efficiently
- Decreases the chance of scarring
- Has less chance of infection
- Enjoys superior protection
