Whitefish, MT
What does Glacier National Park and Hammergel have in common? The Highline Hammer, a three day event in Whitefish, MT home of Hammer Nutrition. I registered in March and have kept in slight contact with them regarding rooms and agenda. Today I received a bunch of material today in the mail;
mostly consisting of tourist information from the Chamber of Commerce. And a big map. Having booked my train ticket last week, I’m getting more and more stoked for this event. In addition, the hotel has been booked. I’m rooming with someone named Lewis. Lastly, Amtrak doesn’t have a bike rack on this leg. I’ll need a case for traveling to and fro and decided on one from Trico Sports.
Incidentally, I work with the brother of one of the Hammer guy’s. It’ll be neat rollin’ with him on the road (if I can keep up!).
Here’s the agenda for that weekend in August
THU
- Meet and Greet
FRI
- Short two hour Spin
- Tour the Headquarters/Talk about Endurance Training
- Dinner
SAT
- 136 mile Ride w. 8,800′ of climbing
- Dinner
SUN
- Shorter 87 mile ride
- Go Home
I’m really looking forward to a couple of the amenities as well; namely all the hammergel and supplements I can eat during the weekend and the photo CD of the trip. This’ll save me the worry of trying to take pictures and I’ll actually be in some of ‘em! There will also be a full-time S.A.G. Wagon for repairs or food during the long rides.

[…] Six hours on the bike. I know. Should have been five and a half, but who’s counting? Must. Ride. More. Else, I’ll suffer trying to pull 20+ at STP (not to mention the goal event this year in Whitefish). Heck, I’ll suffer anyway, but my saddle sores will be null and void. […]
