Mark this Day, Too
As of 04/05/2006 21:28 I am Oregon’s 13th Best All-Around Rider in CAT 4/5! Yup. Read that again. I pdf’d the page from OBRA for posterity’s sake. That’s neat.
Now, I can explain. Last Sunday I finished 2nd at the Estacada Time Trials which in and of itself is pretty good and netted me a bunch of points. I rode well, battled the wind and can’t discount that. The thing is that ALL THE CONTENDERS WERE AT THE STAGE RACE IN EUGENE! I basically didn’t have a whole lot of competition. At any rate, I’m elated. I just started racing a month ago, heck just started biking a year ago and I’m 13th in state if only for a week.
Mark this day, my friends, because when those dudes from the Willamette Valley Stage race hear about this; they’re gonna come knockin’ at my door. Yikes! Wish me luck at the next race!
Which may or may not be this Tuesday night. I’m still kinda beat from Sunday and last week’s crash. Then there’s this whole thing of protecting my 13th ranking for the BAR. I jest. No, I swear. I’m competing with juniors; 17 year old powerhouse cyclists. Then there’s the guys who’s legs are bigger than my torso. It’s fun, but a little nerve wrecking.
