It’s after ten and I’m ready for bed having pinned my race number on my jersey and setup all the stuff on the couch that I’m taking in the morning. I was going to put the racing tires on the bike, but since it’s going to be wet, we’ll be a little safe and use the four season tires.

It’s a two hour drive to the race. I should be there by nine am to register and warm up and have some fun doing 25 laps in at the technology park.

Got the DVD this week … whew! This the first DVD I’ve tried and it’s quite a workout. Since I frequently get dropped on hills, I figure this would be the best one to get.

.. started and ended at the Bainbridge Island Ferry. I continued on HWY back to Poulsbo. The 12 mile wrap up was an excellent way to ride a little harder than we had been going during the 28 mile ride.

While the majority of the ride was done at leisurely paces of 11-13 mph, the faster folks charged up the hills to get the heart rate going. Feels good going all out. The plus is the little break we got at the top of the hill to regroup. Whew!

It was scenic, leisurely and sunny. Perfect day for a long ride.

I go to the 24 Hour Fitness in Downtown Portland twice a week. I’ve gone in the morning, lunchtime, and after work. So far the best times that I’ve been where it’s least crowded are 11:00 AM and 2:30 PM, thereby getting my training in without having to wait for the various machines.
